Book Review: Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World

I have been read­ing Liv­ing with Con­fi­dence in a Chaotic World by Dr. David Jere­miah. I was look­ing for­ward to this book because I have lis­tened to sev­eral of Dr. Jeremiah’s mes­sages on the inter­net.

Dr. David Jere­miah is the senior pas­tor of Shadow Moun­tain Com­mu­nity Church. He is the author of sev­eral best-selling books and his pop­u­lar syn­di­cated Bible-teaching pro­gram, Turn­ing Point.

Liv­ing with Con­fi­dence in a Chaotic World is a fol­low up to What in the World is Going On.  A book where Dr. Jere­miah dis­cussed ten prophetic clues being wit­nessed by our gen­er­a­tion.  This book takes the same verses of scrip­ture, point­ing us toward godly habits which will help us live a life of hope in uncer­tain times.

While I found the book to have solid descrip­tions of the way we as Chris­tians should be liv­ing, I didn’t nec­es­sar­ily find the con­nec­tion Dr. Jere­miah was try­ing to make.  I didn’t read the first book so per­haps this is why.  Each of the sec­tions dis­cussed how we all as Chris­tians should be liv­ing, but some­how I felt per­haps it was all a lit­tle cookie cutter. 

I’m cer­tainly not going to say don’t read the book, because it does have solid teach­ing on Chris­t­ian liv­ing.  How­ever, I think this is a book that’s kind of “been there, done that” and I was expect­ing a lit­tle more.
